There's no business like snow business

Ah, Dallas got it's annual day of frozen precipitation yesterday. As usual, there are some "intellectuals" (read: Yankees) on TV that are clicking their tongues at us poor Texanites that can't drive in ice and snow.

They forget one thing: we don't know how to drive in it because WE DON'T HAVE TO KNOW. Sure, we treat it like a vacation...it is! It's a blissful deviation from the norm that makes the world seem a little more special.

So, the next time someone from up north looks down on us because of our icy driving habits, I'm just going to smile....and think of all those poor folks up there that are getting ready to shovel their driveway for the umptenth time.

Cheers everyone and have a snowball on me,
-S

As far as I'm concerned it was really a non-event. The networks were so worked up on it you would have thought we had a blizzard. But, then I didn't get out today because of the frozen driveway, so it did impact my life.

well, mike and i made it to work and we had employees calling in wanting to know if we were open...and then customers wanted to know why their driver was late?! and if they were closed because of the weather, would they still get their stuff?! WHAT???? is the world really getting that stupid? or did everyone get brain freeze with the weather...like those 18 wheelers that jack-knifed all over the place...idiots!!!

It's said that Texans don't know how to drive in ice. It's also said that they have no problem trying, however.
